Meet Your Photographer

Hey there, nice to meet you.

Thanks for being here, I’m Kayleigh.

After dabbling with photography in high school yearbook class, I bought a camera on a Black Friday sale in 2012 and haven’t looked back. Like most new photographers, my pets saw the camera more than anyone and continue to be my inspiration whenever I need to feel creative again. Sailor’s now learned how to pose herself even –– kind of wish I was kidding!

From there, I started learning and mentoring under a few area wedding photographers in 2015. I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Mass Communications with a photojournalism emphasis in 2017, with many weddings already under my belt.

Since graduation, I’ve been doing everything from wedding photography to portraits to fashion runways to black tie galas in Sarasota, Florida. My wide background in photography brings a unique style to my portrait and wedding work. I consider myself a master at capturing moments while they happen, while also inserting myself to guide and pose when necessary. I pride myself on painting a story in photographs and making sure not only do I tell your love story, but also including those you love around you.

My photography journey has given me a decade and 100s of weddings to look back on! Now, with Element Photography, I’m creating a brand that is uniquely me and goes back to what drives me to create: the ones I love. My animals (Rush, Sailor, Cricket and Bugs) and my daughter, Aurora, all have element-ish type names, and shooting always puts me in my element! I am in love with the direction my work has taken to shooting dog sports, dog portraits and families of dog lovers.

My dogs take up most of my time outside of family. I’m active in training and competing in dog various dog sports with my two dogs, Sailor and Rush. I’m also an avid reader (find me on GoodReads!) and coffee lover!
